Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus has put together his final 2024 seven-round mock draft, where he went through and made all 257 selections.

Early on, Sikkema has the Colts tackling some of their biggest needs, providing some immediate help. Then, in the middle to later portions of the draft, Sikkema has the Colts building out their depth at positions that are in good shape for 2024 but have some unknowns in 2025 and beyond.

Here is a look at each of those selections, along with a breakdown of each pick.

1.15: Cooper DeJean, DB, Iowa

Height: 6-0

Weight: 203

RAS: 9.85

Consensus ranking: 19th

What Sikkema had to say: “DeJean played mostly outside cornerback for Iowa over the past two years. At 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, he checks the size boxes for the position and brings top-tier natural athleticism. His footwork is quick and controlled, his backpedal and shuffling are smooth, his stop-and-start speed is good for his size and his ball skills are elite. Wrap all that with a bow of high football IQ and instincts. He doesn’t have much experience in press coverage but can succeed in that role. DeJean is likely the best run-defending cornerback in the class. There aren’t many holes, if any, in his game.”

Breakdown: The addition of DeJean potentially addresses a few different needs for the Colts. While he lined up on the boundary at Iowa, many think his best position in the NFL could be at safety. DeJean would be a very well-rounded addition to the Colts’ secondary as a willing run defender, sound tackler, and someone who had good ball production in college–something that the Colts need more of. DeJean was a dynamic punt return man as well. He would provide some much-needed help to the Colts’ cornerback position.

2.46: Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan

Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson (1) runs the ball around Washington cornerback Dominique Hampton (7) during the first quarter of the College Football Playoff national championship game against Washington at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Height: 5-11

Weight: 185

RAS: 7.46

Consensus ranking: 57th

Breakdown: Wilson’s first two seasons were spent mostly on the boundary, but in the last two years, he has primarily played in the slot. If the Colts view that alignment as his home in the NFL, there will be a bit of a logjam there with Josh Downs already on the roster. Wilson, however, does bring the juice this offense needs, averaging 16.4 yards per catch in 2023 while also being a willing blocker.

3.82: Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, S, Texas Tech

Final Colts 2024 NFL mock draft from PFF (4)

Texas Tech’s defensive back Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (1) intercepts the ball against TCU in a Big 12 football game, Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Height: 5-10

Weight: 197

RAS: 8.10

Consensus ranking: 106th

Breakdown: Dadrion Taylor-Demerson could immediately come in and compete for the starting free safety role next to Julian Blackmon. Taylor-Demerson’s ability to play that centerfield-like role would make him a great complement to Blackmon and give the Colts a long-term answer at that position. He has totaled 10 interceptions and 15 pass breakups over the last three seasons.

4.117: Hunter Nourzad, IOL, Penn State

Height: 6-3

Weight: 317

RAS: N/A

Consensus ranking: 140th

Breakdown: Nourzad is a developmental prospect with very good athleticism. He has experience at both center and guard and even tackle. Last season, he surrendered no sacks and 16 pressures while being one of PFF’s higher-graded run-blockers. Next offseason, Ryan Kelly and Will Fries are both free agents, making the interior offensive line a potential sneaky addition for the Colts.

5.151: Dallin Holker, TE, Colorado State

Height: 6-3

Weight: 241

RAS: 7.36

Consensus ranking: 193rd

Breakdown: Holker would provide a pass-catching presence at the tight end position. He has not graded out all that well as a blocker. Holker totaled 766 receiving yards in 2023 at 12.0 yards per catch while hauling in 61 percent of his targets. With Kyle Gransen and Will Mallory already on the roster, the Colts have move-tight end options already on the roster, but in general, they need more of an impact from the tight end position in the passing game. Hopefully, a healthy Jelani Woods helps with that.

6.191: Kimani Vidal, RB, Troy

Feb 3, 2024; Mobile, AL, USA; National running back Kimani Vidal of Troy (28) runs the ball during the first half of the 2024 Senior Bowl football game at Hanco*ck Whitney Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Vasha Hunt-USA TODAY Sports

Height: 5-8

Weight: 213

RAS: 8.88

Consensus ranking: 191st

Breakdown: The Colts have options on the roster behind Jonathan Taylor, but there are also unknowns, which could result in Ballard wanting to bolster the competition there. Vidal totaled 1,661 rushing yards at 5.6 yards per attempt and was one of the better, more physical backs, averaging 3.58 yards after contact. Vidal was active in the passing game as well.

7.234: Nathan Thomas, OT, Louisiana

Height: 6-5

Weight: 332

RAS: 7.49

Consensus ranking: 205th

Breakdown: With only four offensive tackles on the roster, at a minimum, the Colts need added depth to help get through training camp and the preseason. At his pre-draft press conference, Ballard discussed the depth of the offensive line class, mentioning that good players can be found in the middle and even late portion of the draft. Thomas spent most of his career at left tackle. He allowed five sacks and 12 pressures last season.
