Could YouTube's partnership with the NFL signal the start of a new era for NFL broadcasting...The massive deal between YouTube and the NFL for "NFL Sunday Ticket" is not only significant in terms of its monetary value but also because it marks a major shift towards digital media for live sports broadcasting, which up to now was dominated by Linear TV.With the rise of new audiences and younger cohorts who prefer digital media over traditional Linear TV, YouTube's deal with the NFL is expected to attract more viewers to the platform. This deal also reflects the ongoing trend of media companies investing in sports broadcasting, with publishers like YouTube TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple TV+ competing against traditional providers like DirecTV. As CTV media continues to grow in popularity for live sports, we will likely see more deals like this in the future.#crossmedia #YoutubeTV #lineartv #nfl

Doing this less will immediately make your broadcasts better______________________________________________________No good. No good. No good. This is a phrase that many play-by-play broadcasters use repeatedly on a missed shot in basketball. “Over to” is another that you will often hear when the ball is passed between players.Varying your vocabulary is important for all broadcasters. It makes for a more entertaining and intelligent broadcast. You'll find some play-by-play vocabulary lists on this page of the STAA website:https://lnkd.in/gF-kvuk5

The fact that the Phoenix Suns HAVE TO hand out free TV antennas, like it's 1977, to potential fans so that they can watch the games on Channel 19 should say all you need to know about how this isn't (or shouldn't be) the silver bullet solution to reach fans sans their RSNOh, some will say the fact that they were "all gone" in 3 hours proves that fans want to watch OTA with TV antennas...but cmon, people will literally take ANYTHING that's free. And, they conspicuously omitted reporting how many antennas they handed out. Was it 10? 100? 1000? Today, only 63% of HH's have access to broadcast TV stations via MVPD (cable/satellite), vMVPD (streaming) or OTA (antenna). Despite a few fans getting free antennas, next year this will be <60%, and in 2027 will be <50%.#nba #tv #sportstv #ott #streaming #broadcast #cable #ancient #history #backtofuture #ridiculous #broadband #math #audience #reach #engage #monetize

It was a big week for sports, with various leagues and related programming snagging seven of the top 25 spots in the show ranking. #NBA playoff action continues to be a slam dunk, with games accounting for 5.07% of all minutes watched during the week, an increase from the previous week’s 4.50%. The weekly network ranking did not see drastic change: 13 networks retained their positions week-over-week — although that doesn’t mean the watch-time remained the same. ABC, which held steady in first place, accounted for 7.45% of all minutes watched, a slight decrease from the previous week’s 7.49%.
