He was born Oct. 18, 1920, at Lincoln to Oscar and Esther Fletcher Teichmann. He married Lucy Marie Summers on July 20, 1941, at Monroe, Mo. She died in August 1992. Lester was born on March 16, 1910, in Cazenovia to Jacob and Katherine Studer Bachman. He married Evaline Bailey on Feb. 2, 1935, in Peoria.

She died Sept. 2, 2004. She died Oct. 22, 2003. He served on the Thawville volunteer fire department for over 50 years, having served as chief and trustee. Sunday (Nov. 7, 2004) at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Mrs. Metz was a retired registered nurse employed by the former Deaconess Memorial Hospital and Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, the Hopedale Hospital in Hopedale, and the Christian Nursing Home in Lincoln.

She also worked on the family farm north of Lincoln. She was a of the Lincoln Christian Church. Frances was born July 14, 1921, in Vandalia, the daughter of Clyde and Anice Manion Radcliffe. She married Robert E. Metz on Nov.

6, 1943. preceded her in death on May 10, 1999. Surviving are her four children, Carole Knipp of Bloomington; Robert S. Metz of Decatur; Gary W. Metz of Tucson, and Susan Coe of Austin, Texas; a brother, Leroy (Barb) Radcliffe of Lincoln; sister-inlaw Phyllis Radcliffe of Bloomington; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends of the family, Wayne and Francille Crosier of Mount Pulaski.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her brothers, Virgil and Paul Rad- from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. 27, 1920, at El Paso; the daughter of James and Ella Kridner Delaney. She married Donald Gaines on Feb. 9, 1938, at Vincennes, Ind. He died Jan. 12, 1981.

Survivors include one son, Tom (Karen) Gaines, Heyworth; three daughters, Patricia (Leonard) Hursh, Heyworth; Judy (Jim) Tilton, Fargo, N.D.; and Sandy (Lonny) Snow, Wapella. She was the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. One son, Donnie; three brothers; and two sisters preceded her in death. Ruth and her husband, Donald, farmed east of Downs until 1960. They then owned and operated The Park View Inn Restaurant from 1960 to 1965, and after that they owned and operated Gaines Grocery at Armington for seven and a half years.

After her retirement, Ruth was a member of the OSF St. Joseph's Auxiliary and did volunteer work for several organizations in the BloomingtonNormal area. "Mom collected angels and she was an angel to all of us. She loved her children, grandchildren and grandchildren 'very much' and everyone she knew will miss her." Donald Haywood BLOOMINGTON Donald S. He graduated from Rutland High School and received his bachelor's degree from Millikin University, Decatur. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 25th Infantry Division from 1951-1952 and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, two Purple Hearts and three Bronze Stars. He had been a teacher and a coach, a social worker and was a coal miner for 20 years at Monterey Coal Company, Carlinville. He was a member of the American Legion, Streator, and St.

Anthony's Catholic Church, Streator. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, sports and traveling. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Sarah Marie Snyder BLOOMINGTON Sarah Marie Snyder, 105, of 311 Mecherle Drive, Bloomington, died at 10:25 p.m. Monday (Nov.

8, 2004) at. ManorCare Health Services, Normal. No service will be scheduled. Private inurnment will be in Parkview Memorial Park, Peoria, at a later date. Calvert Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Snyder was affiliated with Eastview Christian Church, Bloomington. She was a member of the Leticia Green Stevenson Chapter of D.A.R. Mrs. Snyder had worked as a bank teller and beautician in Peoria prior to retirement.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Cancer Center or BroMenn Hospice. He was born Oct. 19, 1935, at Bloomington, the son of Elgin M. and Jessie M. Schindler Thornton.

'He married Joan Johnson on April 23, 1954, in Bloomington. She died Aug. 22, 2004. Survivors include two sons, Scott (Julie) Thornton, Minier, and Christopher (Katie) Thornton, Bloomington; eight grandchildren; one great and one sister, Judy Vance, Bloomington. One son, Mark Thornton, preceded him in death.

Mr. Thornton was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving in the Korean War. He served as a police officer for both the Bloomington and the Orlando, police departments. He also worked as a time study engineer for the Eureka-Williams Bloomington, for more than 22 years.
